With the sounding of the hunting horns by De Keilers from Hummelo, the game season has been officially opened at LEV. by Mike in Winterswijk. Mayor Anton Stapelkamp (Aalten) and host Mike Vrijdag raised the flag together – marking the start of a season full of flavor and local products.
VIP cardholders of the VriendenLoterij already have free admission to the Lalique Museum. In November 2025, they will receive an extra benefit. For those interested in art, the doors of the Lalique Museum are wide open. Inside, you can admire the art of René Lalique, and Marc Chagall takes center stage in the temporary exhibition. In connection with the Achterhoek Museum Week from November 14 to 16, there are extra activities.
VISITORS TAKE TEMPORARY ROUTE
The construction of the glass corridor and the new entrance of the Lalique Museum and De Commanderij started on August 26. As a result, from that date, a new route applies to all visitors to the three locations of the Lalique Museum. Whereas visitors would normally go inside, they now have to take a short walk to reach the museum.

On Saturday, July 5th, 2025 at 3:00 PM, the opening of the new exhibition 'Marc Chagall - The Poet of Colors' took place in the Gasthuiskerk in Doesburg. After the introduction by Marga Boom and the words of thanks from Santino Melssen, Marijke van Haeren spoke passionately about the preservation of the Commanderij and the associated restoration.

Starting Monday, June 23, the exhibition 'From Jan Toorop to Kees van Dongen' will be removed from the museum to make way for Marc Chagall. The new exhibition has been carefully curated by curator Benjamin Janssens.
From June 18 until 22 days later, you still have the chance to visit the exhibition 'From Jan Toorop to Kees van Dongen - From Symbolism to Fauvism'. From June 24 to July 4, we will be setting up the new exhibition. The museum will remain open during the changeover. So the permanent collection and the exhibition 'Kingdom of Colors - Part II' can be seen.
On Monday, June 9th, it is Whit Monday. The Lalique Museum will be open then—just like on Easter Monday. Normally, the museum is closed on Mondays. However, since most people have the day off on these holidays, we are opening our doors wide.

Since July 29 at 11:00 am in the great hall of the restored Commandery, the exhibition Kingdom of Colors - Colors and Glass, a Golden Combination can be seen.
The attached conservatory of the restored Commandery provides a beautiful setting for the exhibition on the history of René Lalique's life and career.
From July 29 at 11:00 a.m., we will partially open the beautifully restored Commanderij. On the ground floor, the large knight’s hall will host the exhibition Kingdom of Colors – Colors and Glass, a Golden Combination. An additional fee of €3.50 applies for access to the Commanderij and the Kingdom of Colors exhibition.
The accessibility of the museum will not be optimal during the first year after the Commanderij is put into use. During construction, we cannot guarantee that the elevator shafts and the elevator with its accessories will be installed and ready for use. The ground floor will be opened soon, but unfortunately there will still be obstacles for people with reduced mobility.

In 2023, Doesburg, together with the other eight Hanseatic cities in Eastern Netherlands, celebrates the Hanseatic Year. A year dedicated to 800 years of Hanseatic heritage. The Hanseatic Year is an ode to the Hanseatic League; the medieval trade network that brought wealth and a spirit of commerce to the cities and is still clearly visible and tangible today.
The Museum Week takes place from April 1st to 7th. During that week, you can lend or share your Museum Card with someone else. For this one time, it will not be checked whether the photos of the Museum Card holder and the visitor match. The photo on the Museum Card will also not be checked at our entrance at Gasthuisstraat 1 in Doesburg.
You are very welcome in our museum during Easter. We are open on both Easter Sunday and Easter Monday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
