With the sounding of the hunting horns by De Keilers from Hummelo, the game season has been officially opened at LEV. by Mike in Winterswijk. Mayor Anton Stapelkamp (Aalten) and host Mike Vrijdag raised the flag together – marking the start of a season full of flavor and local products.

VIP cardholders of the VriendenLoterij already have free admission to the Lalique Museum. In November 2025, they will receive an extra benefit. They can bring a guest, and the guest will also receive a free entrance ticket. Of course, we hope to welcome as many VIPs with guests as possible in November. 

Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen has organized a guided tour for its donors on November 21 at 10:15 AM in the Lalique Museum. Donors and other interested parties are warmly welcome to join at 10:15 AM at the museum’s ticket desk at Gasthuisstraat 1 in Doesburg. Ticket for the tour and lecture: 10.00. You will need to arrange your own entrance ticket for the museum. Museum and VIP cards from the VriendenLoterij are valid. The surcharge for the Chagall exhibition is 3.50. Advance reservation is not necessary.

During the Achterhoek Museum Weekend, the Lalique Museum is organizing a 

Art Lecture on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 November 2025

You can register individually for the Art Lecture during the Achterhoek Museum Weekend on 15 and 16 November. 

For those interested in art, the doors of the Lalique Museum are wide open. Inside, you can admire the art of René Lalique, and Marc Chagall takes center stage in the temporary exhibition. In connection with the Achterhoek Museum Week from November 14 to 16, there are extra activities.

VISITORS TAKE TEMPORARY ROUTE 

The construction of the glass corridor and the new entrance of the Lalique Museum and De Commanderij started on August 26. As a result, from that date, a new route applies to all visitors to the three locations of the Lalique Museum. Whereas visitors would normally go inside, they now have to take a short walk to reach the museum. 

The construction of the glass corridor and the new entrance of the Lalique Museum and De Commanderij will start from August 25. Consequently, a new route will apply to all visitors in the museum from that date onwards. 

Everyone will start their museum visit as usual at Gasthuisstraat 1. Entrance tickets can be purchased there. You can also have your e-ticket scanned at this location. Next, you can view the Chagall exhibition and the Lalique collection at this site. After that, you cross the street....

On Cultural Sunday – always the first Sunday of the month – there is plenty to do again. In addition to the Lalique Museum, which is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, many other museums and galleries are also open that day. Special attention for the Sculpture Walk led by artist Ina Timmer. 

Do you need a gift and are you looking for something original? Then the gift voucher from the Lalique Museum might be just what you need. On Saturday, July 5th, 2025 at 3:00 PM, the opening of the new exhibition 'Marc Chagall - The Poet of Colors' took place in the Gasthuiskerk in Doesburg. After the introduction by Marga Boom and the words of thanks from Santino Melssen, Marijke van Haeren spoke passionately about the preservation of the Commanderij and the associated restoration.

From July 6, 2025 until June 21, 2025, the exhibition Marc Chagall - the Poet of Colors can be seen in Doesburg. Visitors are welcome on Sundays at 11:00 am. The Lalique Museum is pleased with another beautiful edition of De Kunstkrant. 

From Sunday, July 6, 2025 at 11:00 AM, the exhibition The Poet of Colors featuring the works of Marc Chagall will be on display for the first time at the Lalique Museum. You are most welcome. The exhibition will be on view until June 21, 2026.

Museum visits and cycling, an excellent combination. 
Many people want to have a wonderful day out, see as much as possible, and be as active as they can. Well, that’s perfectly possible in the Achterhoek. So come to this beautiful region and cycle past Drempt, Keppel, Hummelo, and Doesburg. That’s about 25 km.

Starting Monday, June 23, the exhibition 'From Jan Toorop to Kees van Dongen' will be removed from the museum to make way for Marc Chagall. The new exhibition has been carefully curated by curator Benjamin Janssens.

From June 18 until 22 days later, you still have the chance to visit the exhibition 'From Jan Toorop to Kees van Dongen - From Symbolism to Fauvism'. From June 24 to July 4, we will be setting up the new exhibition. The museum will remain open during the changeover. So the permanent collection and the exhibition 'Kingdom of Colors - Part II' can be seen. 

On Monday, June 9th, it is Whit Monday. The Lalique Museum will be open then—just like on Easter Monday. Normally, the museum is closed on Mondays. However, since most people have the day off on these holidays, we are opening our doors wide.

The monthly route along the Lalique Museum and more than 14 other cultural venues in the city center of Doesburg offers musical performances at two locations with the theme ‘Blues with a touch of folk’.

On Ascension Day, tomorrow 29 May 2025, the museum will be open as usual from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You are very welcome. The weather forecast makes a museum visit a fantastic idea. 

The menu has been expanded with an 'Arabic' dish. A warm lunch dish with garlic, capers, and mushrooms. In addition to the many other dishes ....

The terrace in our flower garden is also open to visitors without an admission ticket or museum card. You can enjoy a delicious homemade lunch or a fresh ginger tea with us.

On Sunday, May 4th, 2025, Doesburg will become a city full of words, images, and emotions during the heartwarming initiative "Send a Card in Doesburg", part of Cultural Sunday. Cultural Sunday takes place every first Sunday of the month. 

After the successful exhibition 'Kingdom of Colours - Colours and glass, a golden combination', there is now a 'Kingdom of Colours - Part II'. René Lalique is a glass artist, but also, without a doubt, a colour specialist.

Around 1900, the period known as the Belle Époque, modern developments in the world followed each other rapidly; this was also true in the world of art.
Mostly young artists responded to these changes in various ways.

A new convenient handrail is the solution for people who have more difficulty climbing stairs. They provide extra support to our visitors. Recently, they were installed by a professional. 

A beautiful catalogue accompanies an exhibition. For € 14.50, you can purchase this publication in our museum shops. 

Especially for this December, the range of jewelry and bags has been greatly expanded. This is to ensure that Santa Claus can find the perfect gifts in the museum shops.

Would you like to join our friendly team? Even if you have just a day or part of a day to spare, it can make a real difference. We have over 40 volunteers, each with their own specialty. There is plenty to do.

On Tuesday, November 12 and Friday, November 22 at 11:30 am, you can participate individually in an Art Arrangement at the museum, without being part of a group. 

November is the art month for holders of a VIP card from the Vriendenloterij. From November 1st to 30th, the VIP cardholder can bring a guest to the Lalique Museum for free.

How wonderful would it be if the Lalique Museum could be considered for the Cultuurfonds Gelderland Awards thanks to your vote. Each year, there is one winner of the Cultuurfonds Gelderland Culture Prize. Until October 31st, you can nominate us for the Cultuurfonds Gelderland Culture Prize. 

The jewelry room becomes the treasure chamber for this brooch and other pieces of jewelry designed by René Lalique. During construction, no less than 370,000 kilos of steel and concrete were used.

Mayor Loes van der Meijs of the municipality of Doesburg surprised curator Benjamin Janssens and chairman Santino Melssen on July 6, 2024. They were knighted that day!

As is tradition, the opening of the new exhibition also took place this time in the Gasthuiskerk in Doesburg. On Saturday, July 6, the exhibition: 'From Jan Toorop to Kees van Dongen' was festively inaugurated.

Up to and including June 23rd, it’s still possible! Until then, the exhibition 'Mucha & Contemporaries – Flowing Lines of Graphic Art' can be seen in Doesburg. Featuring works by Alphonse Mucha, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Paul Follot, Georges Barbier, Jessie Marion King, and many others.

The final day of the exhibition 'Mucha & Contemporaries' is Sunday, 23 June 2024. Until that day, you can enjoy the 'paper art' from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods in the museum.

What could be more enjoyable than celebrating your birthday in our museum? This is perfectly possible with a special package. It includes a welcome with a glass of prosecco, a lecture, a piano recital, and a guided tour.

At the beginning of this year, the transformation of the museum shop at Gasthuisstraat 1 began. The walls were renovated. The display cases were moved or replaced where necessary. We also strive to be as sustainable as possible. 

From January 1 to 8, 2024, the museum will be closed for a week. We look forward to welcoming you in 2023 or again from January 9, 2024, in Doesburg at Gasthuisstraat 1.

The crowdfunding campaign has been successful. We can acquire the Violet, created by René Lalique, for the museum. Thanks to the help of many. Among the donors, an Avallon vase will be raffled on December 6th....

On Thursday 14th, Wednesday 20th, and Friday 22nd of December, you can once again take part in our traditional Christmas arrangement. The Lalique Museum will be fully decorated in the Christmas spirit.

Especially for children, the Lalique Museum has created a fun treasure hunt. Children have to look for the answers to easy and difficult questions.  

Senior curator Dr. Paul Rem from Paleis Het Loo opened the exhibition ‘Kingdom of Colours’ at the Lalique Museum on September 16, 2023. Dr. Rem will speak about these findings on the program ‘Tijd voor Max’ on September 21, 2023, between five and six o’clock.

Lalique Museum is participating in 24 Hours Hanseatic. On Saturday, October 14th, the Commanderij of the Lalique Museum can be visited from 5:00 PM onwards. The entrance will then be on Kerkstraat. Children have free admission and 

The crowdfunding campaign to preserve the jewel 'Het Viooltje' is nearing its end. This month, you still have the last opportunity to help preserve this beautiful jewel for the Lalique Museum and its visitors.

Prof. Mr. Pieter van Vollenhoven, former chairman of the Restoration Fund and current chairman of the Reassignment Committee, honored the Lalique Museum with a visit on Saturday, September 9th.

As of October 2, 2023, the price of the Museum Card for adults will increase to 75 euros. Young people up to and including 18 years old pay 39 euros.

Since July 29 at 11:00 am in the great hall of the restored Commandery, the exhibition Kingdom of Colors - Colors and Glass, a Golden Combination can be seen.

The attached conservatory of the restored Commandery provides a beautiful setting for the exhibition on the history of René Lalique's life and career. 

From July 29 at 11:00 a.m., we will partially open the beautifully restored Commanderij. On the ground floor, the large knight’s hall will host the exhibition Kingdom of Colors – Colors and Glass, a Golden Combination. An additional fee of €3.50 applies for access to the Commanderij and the Kingdom of Colors exhibition.

The accessibility of the museum will not be optimal during the first year after the Commanderij is put into use. During construction, we cannot guarantee that the elevator shafts and the elevator with its accessories will be installed and ready for use. The ground floor will be opened soon, but unfortunately there will still be obstacles for people with reduced mobility. 

Our lunch menu has been expanded with a Lalique Salad, and if you don't feel like cooking in the evening, you can enjoy an extensive lunch with us. New is the three-course lunch menu. 

On Friday, June 16, the exhibition Mucha & Contemporaries was officially opened in the Gasthuiskerk in Doesburg. Afterwards, the guests headed to the museum for a guided tour. Despite the high temperatures, the works of Alphonse Mucha and his contemporaries were admired with great enthusiasm. 

On Wednesday, June 14 at 11:00 AM, you are welcome to view the beautiful 'Art on Paper' created by Alphonse Mucha, Paul Berthon, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Paul Follot, and other contemporaries. On June 16, 2023, we will still be closed due to the official opening of the new exhibition. 

From June 14, 2023, the new exhibition will open:
Mucha & Contemporaries – Flowing Lines of Graphic Art – at the Lalique Museum in Doesburg. 

Due to the time needed to prepare for the new exhibition, the Lalique Museum will be closed from May 30 to June 13, 2023. The new exhibition will start on June 14. We will also be closed on June 16.

The exhibition featuring the beautiful jewelry & silver is on display until May 29. The museum is also open on Whit Monday. The original closing date was May 28. 

Throughout the entire month of May, VIP cardholders of the Vrienden Loterij may bring one guest to the Lalique Museum for free.

The beautiful Plaque de Cou 'the violet' can be seen in the exhibition 'Currents and Figures'. However, the piece is privately owned. We would like to acquire it to preserve it for our museum and our visitors. The crowdfunding campaign has now started and we hope for your generous support.  

In 2023, Doesburg, together with the other eight Hanseatic cities in Eastern Netherlands, celebrates the Hanseatic Year. A year dedicated to 800 years of Hanseatic heritage. The Hanseatic Year is an ode to the Hanseatic League; the medieval trade network that brought wealth and a spirit of commerce to the cities and is still clearly visible and tangible today.

The Museum Week takes place from April 1st to 7th. During that week, you can lend or share your Museum Card with someone else. For this one time, it will not be checked whether the photos of the Museum Card holder and the visitor match. The photo on the Museum Card will also not be checked at our entrance at Gasthuisstraat 1 in Doesburg.

You are very welcome in our museum during Easter. We are open on both Easter Sunday and Easter Monday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. On Wednesday April 5th, Thursday April 6th, and Friday April 7th, you can also take part in our Easter package. Come with your family or friends and celebrate Easter in our museum. The cost is € 22.50 per person.

On Tuesday, November 22, Santino Melssen, chairman of the Lalique Museum, was a guest on the RTL4 television program Koffietijd. He spoke to Loretta Schrijver and Quinty Trustfull about the new masterpiece and the exhibition Currents & Figures.

From November 1st, the new masterpiece Collier Plaquettes Perlées will be on display at the Lalique Museum. This Art Deco jewel was donated by the granddaughter of René Lalique.

The Lalique Museum has published a new book entitled 'Symbolism in Glass'. The book delves deeper into this symbolism and tells the stories behind a modest selection of René Lalique's glass designs. 

In the exhibition ‘Movements & Figures; jewelry and silver from art nouveau to art deco’, a prominent role is reserved for the British art nouveau style.

On Saturday, July 2nd, the new exhibition 'Currents & Forms; jewelry and silver from art nouveau to art deco' was officially opened by jewelry historian Martijn Akkerman. 

Due to the preparations for the new exhibition Currents & Forms, the Lalique Museum will be closed to the public from June 20th to July 2nd. We will reopen on July 3rd. 

Visitors have until Sunday, June 19 to view the exhibition 'De Stijl, Theo van Doesburg & contemporaries'. 

The museum's permanent collection was recently expanded with several objects by René Lalique. To accommodate this expansion, new display cases have been installed by the Doesburg-based company Robaard.

Due to the replacement of display cases, the museum will be closed from Tuesday, April 26 through Thursday, April 28. Starting Friday, April 29, the museum will be open again on its regular days. 

The Lalique Museum has announced the name of its upcoming exhibition: Currents & Forms. In this new exhibition, visitors are taken on a journey through the origins of art nouveau and art deco.

As of Friday, February 25, almost all coronavirus measures will be lifted, such as the coronavirus entry pass, wearing a face mask, and maintaining a distance of 1.5 meters. 

Recently, the grand prize of the crowdfunding campaign was festively awarded to the lucky winner. The lady in the photo, from South Holland, has since become the proud owner of the original Palmes vase by René Lalique.

Starting Thursday, February 3, visitors can take advantage of 'discounted coffee' when ordering entrance tickets online. They will then pay only 2.50 for a cup of coffee, tea, espresso, or cappuccino. 

Starting Wednesday, January 26, the museum will be open to the public again. To make this day extra festive, you will receive a free cup of coffee or tea in our atmospheric museum café during your visit today. Reservations are not required. 

Until Sunday, March 6, 2022, holders of a VriendenLoterij VIP card may bring 3 guests to the museum for free. The guests, like the VIP cardholder, do not have to pay an entrance fee or exhibition surcharge. 

Just like in 2020, one of the light beams from the Oosterlicht project can be seen in Doesburg from December 21 to January 6. The powerful spotlight is located in the garden of the Lalique Museum and connects Doesburg with other places.

As of Sunday, December 19, the museum will be closed again due to the new measures announced by the government. This closure will remain in effect until Friday, January 14, 2022, for the time being. 

We are closed from January 1st to January 9th, 2023. You are very welcome again from January 10th onwards. We wish you a wonderful New Year’s Eve and a healthy and happy New Year. 

The crowdfunding campaign to preserve two rare jewels by Lalique and Gautrait has concluded and can be called a great success. Thanks to the very generous donations from the public, a total of € 35,000 was raised in just one year.

During an interview with Richard Kok from DoesburgDirect, the chairman of the Lalique Museum, Santino Melssen, stated that the intention to expand the Lalique Museum to De Commanderij in the spring of 2023 

For museums, all access-restricting measures will be lifted as of September 25. This means that the one and a half meter distance is no longer mandatory in the museum, not even during possible events.

The year 2021 is a special year. Not only was the museum able to reopen its doors on June 5th, but the Lalique Museum is also celebrating its tenth anniversary. Of course, we will not let this joyous occasion go by unnoticed.

Participants in the VriendenLoterij (formerly: BankGiro Loterij) who possess a VIP CARD can still take advantage of the promotion to bring three guests for free until Sunday, October 3.

On Saturday, June 4th, the official opening of the new exhibition 'De Stijl: Theo van Doesburg & Contemporaries' took place in the Gasthuiskerk in Doesburg. The opening was performed by the deputy of the province of Gelderland. 

Good news for holders of a VIP CARD from the BankGiro Lottery. From the reopening onwards, the Lalique Museum will accept this card as an admission ticket. This has been agreed upon between the museum and the BankGiro Lottery. 

The Lalique Museum is raffling an authentic Lalique vase among donors to the jewelry crowdfunding campaign. The vase in question is the 'Palmes' vase, designed by René Lalique in 1923. 

The Lalique Museum is in the spotlight at Omroep Gelderland because of their campaign 'HEART for Gelderland entrepreneurs'. We were asked a number of questions, which we were happy to answer. 

From December 19 to January 6, every day between 5:00 PM and 11:00 PM, a beam of light will shine kilometers high into the sky from our museum, visible from far and wide. The beam of light is part of the Oosterlicht project. 

On Monday, November 23, the chairman of the Lalique Museum, Santino Melssen, was a guest on the television program Koffietijd on RTL4. He spoke to Loretta Schrijver and Quinty Trustfull about the new jewelry exhibition. 

The digital tour announced in August is now available on our YouTube channel and this website. The video depicts the life and work of René Lalique and gives viewers a glimpse into our museum. 

Despite the reopening, not everyone is able to visit our museum yet. That is why we are working on creating a digital tour, which will be available online soon. 

In collaboration with Achterhoek Tourism and fellow museums from the Achterhoek region, a beautiful television commercial was developed. The Lalique Museum and the chandelier from Soestdijk Palace are beautifully featured in it. 

We are pleased to announce that the museum has reopened as of today. From now on, visitors can once again fully enjoy the exhibition ‘Royal Light’.

The museum is currently closed due to the Corona outbreak, but behind the scenes we continue to work, including further increasing our brand awareness.

The Lalique Museum is housed in two national monuments, and its future location, the Commanderij, is also a national monument.

The royal allure of our new exhibition is attracting attention from various media outlets focused on royalty. Recently, the television program Blauw Bloed featured 'Royal Light'.
