Crowdfunding campaign

A remarkable jewel in plique à jour, the Pensée (Pansy) plaque de cou, was acquired thanks to the crowdfunding campaign held in 2023. Many people, together with us, recognized the importance of acquiring this beautiful necklace and thus preserving it for the public. You will understand that we are very grateful to everyone who participated in the campaign.

What makes this jewel special? For several reasons, this necklace is a highlight in the artist’s oeuvre. The perfect window enamel, or plique à jour, and the addition of brilliant-cut diamonds—which could only be set after the firing process and therefore added an extra level of difficulty—give this jewel exceptional value. The French word 'pensée' (pansy) and the French verb 'penser' (to think of) suggest that this was a wedding gift. The jewel, which served as the centerpiece of a 'collier-de-chien', could for this purpose be attached to a silk grosgrain ribbon.
