New funds for Commanderij

Mrs. Vroom-Van Ark has made funds available for the realization of the holographic room at the Commanderij of Doesburg.
With this, an important space at the Commanderij has been adopted and this “Van Ark room” can now be restored and furnished.

In addition, the Knightly Order of St. John in Utrecht has provided a facility that will allow the eastern annex and the stair tower to be restored to their former glory. In particular, these parts of the old Knight’s building are in urgent need of restoration.

The foundation is delighted with these developments. For museum card holders, the museum is now free to access and visitor numbers have more than doubled.
The international exhibition “art nouveau and japonism, a new wave” is also responsible for large visitor flows.
All Japanese prints from the Wessels collection have been rotated again this month.
